Hello and welcome guys! First, please allow me to introduce myself.. My name is Adam and I`m sure many of you may have come across me within the PTC over the last few years (once met never forgotten!!).
On Tuesday 17th April I was voted as the new Chair of the Nottingham PTC. It is with great a great sense of honour that I accepted the position and with great pride to have the opportunity to be able to serve as Chair for an exceptional theatre company with an astounding pool of talent.
We come off the heals of a fantastic run of our production of Oscar Wilde`s, The Importance of Being Earnest`. Even though the production faced numerous challenges it received universal praise and ended its run as our most successful production in years disregarding a fantastic pantomime productions so a big thank you to all those involved in front of the stage curtains and behind!
And now we look to the future and our next great production, Chess- The Musical!
Written by Tim Rice and with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus amd directed by our very own Meng Khaw, this is an epic tale of passion, power and politics set during the backdrop of the Cold War during the 1980`s. The story involves a politically driven, Cold War–era chess tournament between two men—an American grandmaster and a Soviet grandmaster—and their fight over a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. The politics and backdrop of the musical is just as relevant today as they were decades ago.
The cast and orchestra are working exceptionally hard to put on this epic production so please come on down in July to support them, this is one of the biggest musicals we have put on to date and I promise you it will know your socks off!!!!!!
