Blog – What to Expect in 2017

Well 2016 closed with another hugely successful pantomime (oh yes it was). Dick Whittington made the biggest profit so far and each year the PTC panto keeps getting bigger and better. If you haven’t seen one of our annul pantomimes yet, then December 2017 will bring the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk to life and no doubt it’ll be as fantastic as the others. Presently though we are working on:-

Arthur Miller’s The Crucible
Wednesday 29th March to Saturday 1st April.

It’s set during the Salem witch trials it tells the tale of how the whims of one woman turn a town of good, respectable people upside down. Friends turn against each other and darkness engulfs them. As the rumour of witchcraft grows, Abigail Williams, turns rumour to panic and then hysteria, but there might be more to people’s accusations than they are letting on.

Rehearsals for this amazing production started just before Christmas, there is a talented cast some well-known faces who frequent the arts theatre as well as some people who have never performed there before.

Tickets for this production can be bought at:-

2017 will also bring The Pirates of Penzance which will be performed in the summer.

Auditions for this will be announced shortly. Pirates of Penzance is probably one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most famous musicals, with a large cast and great opportunities for competent singers and also those with less experience that just love performing. Keep an eye on the PTC page for more information about these.
